Features Unavailable on iPhone
LDAC high-resolution audio: Apple doesn't support Sony's hi-res codec. iPhone users are limited to AAC, which delivers good—but not maximum—audio quality.
Gemini AI integration: Google's assistant features are Android-exclusive.
Google Fast Pair: Initial pairing takes slightly longer without Fast Pair convenience.
Audio Quality for iPhone Users
AAC codec provides excellent quality that satisfies most listeners. The LDAC difference is primarily noticeable to audiophiles using high-resolution music files. For streaming services (Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music), AAC delivers more than adequate quality.
Recommendation for iPhone Users
The WF-1000XM6 remains an excellent choice for iPhone users prioritizing:
- Industry-leading noise cancellation
- Premium sound quality with customizable EQ
- Advanced features (Adaptive Sound Control, Speak-to-Chat)
Consider the AirPods Pro 3 if you prioritize:
- Seamless Apple ecosystem integration
- Health features (heart rate, hearing aid mode)
- Lower price point ($249 vs $329)
