How ShopSavvy Compares Prices

ShopSavvy has been comparing prices since 2008; it was one of the very first apps on both the iPhone and Android. Today it compares prices across tens of thousands of retailers and 30M+ products.

When you look up a product, ShopSavvy matches it across the stores that sell it and collects each store's current price, shipping estimate, and stock status. Results are always sorted by price; no retailer can pay to rank higher. We work for the consumer, not the stores.

Every product also gets a price history chart, so you can see whether today's price is genuinely low or just dressed up as a deal, and a watch button: ShopSavvy re-checks the products you watch and alerts you when a check finds a lower price.

Price Comparison FAQs

How do I compare prices across different stores?
Type a product name or its barcode into the search box on this page, scan the barcode with the free iPhone or Android app, or open the product page with the browser extension installed. ShopSavvy checks the stores that sell it and lists every current price, sorted lowest first.
Is ShopSavvy’s price comparison free?
Yes. Comparing prices, price history and price alerts are free on the website, the iPhone and Android apps and the browser extensions. The free apps show ads; ShopSavvy Pro is an optional subscription that removes them.
What stores does ShopSavvy compare prices from?
ShopSavvy compares prices from tens of thousands of retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy and eBay, plus marketplace sellers and, in the app, nearby store prices where they are available. Coverage is strongest for US stores.
Can I look up a product by its barcode?
Yes. Type a UPC or EAN barcode (8 to 14 digits) into the search box and ShopSavvy finds the product and links to every store’s price for it. In a store, scan the barcode with the app instead.
How is ShopSavvy different from Google Shopping?
Google Shopping shows listings retailers submit, and retailers pay to promote them. ShopSavvy checks prices on retailers’ own product pages when you look a product up and always sorts results by price; no store can pay to appear above another.
Can ShopSavvy track a price and tell me when it drops?
Yes. Watch any product and ShopSavvy re-checks it and alerts you when a check finds a lower price or a restock. Each product shows when it was last checked, and its price history chart shows whether today’s price is actually a good one.
How do I know a sale price is real?
Look at the price history on the product’s ShopSavvy page. It shows each store’s price over time, so you can see whether a “sale” is below the usual price or just back to it. ShopSavvy’s price history goes back to 2011, dense from 2019.
