Identifiers that match nothing cost nothing. Limits on every plan: 100 identifiers per request, a price-history window of up to 366 days per call, and 1,000 requests per rolling hour per account. Data Licensing
About Data Licensing →Bulk licensing of product catalog data, current offers and price history (dense from 2019, observations back to 2011) as files, from a single retailer or category slice to a full annual license. Pricing questions
Is there a free tier?
The Data API has no free tier. The Starter plan comes with a 14-day trial, and the documentation playground runs real calls against sample products with no account. The ShopSavvy MCP server is free without any key: free without a key (10 tool calls a minute, 100 an hour); an API key raises it to 100 a minute, and tool calls then use plan credits.
What happens when I run out of Data API credits?
Requests that would cost credits return HTTP 429 with the error code ERR_CREDITS_EXHAUSTED until your allowance resets or you upgrade. There are no overage charges: you are never billed more than your plan price. Calls that cost 0 credits, such as GET /v1/usage, keep working.
Do unused credits roll over?
No. Your monthly allowance resets on the 1st of each month. Bonus credits earned through the referral program are the exception: they top up your allowance and carry over until used.
How do credits relate to the rate limit?
They are separate. Credits measure data returned; the rate limit is 1,000 requests per rolling hour per account, counted across all of the account's keys. A request that costs 0 credits still counts as one request. Pass up to 100 identifiers in one call, or use POST /v1/products/batch, to fetch many products with few requests.
How am I billed?
Data API and Business plans are billed monthly by card through Stripe, in US dollars. Sponsorship packages are booked by the week. Data Licensing and Search API agreements are invoiced on the terms in the quote.
How do I cancel?
Cancel a Data API plan yourself on the billing page in the developer dashboard (shopsavvy.com/data/billing). Cancelling during the trial means you are never charged; cancelling a paid plan keeps it active until the end of the period you paid for. Business plans are managed and cancelled from Business settings through the Stripe billing portal.
Which plans have a trial?
The Data API Starter plan has a 14-day trial. Every ShopSavvy for Business plan has a 14-day trial. Search API and Data Licensing are scoped per customer, so there is no trial; email business@shopsavvy.com to scope an evaluation.
What does an enterprise or custom agreement include?
Credit volume above 50,000 a month, volume pricing, custom contract terms and SLA terms on annual contracts, and a named contact. Email business@shopsavvy.com with your expected volume and use case.
