The Sony WF-1000XM6 includes a dedicated Low Latency mode that makes wireless gaming actually viable—no more audio delay ruining your immersion or throwing off your timing.

How to Enable Low Latency Mode

1. Open the Sony Sound Connect app on your smartphone
2. Navigate to Sound settings
3. Select Prioritize Low Latency under connection priority

This simple change reduces audio delay from 100-200ms (standard Bluetooth) down to approximately 30-50ms using LE Audio's LC3 codec—a difference you can genuinely feel during gameplay.

What You Need for Low Latency Mode

Device requirements:

• Your phone or gaming device must support Bluetooth LE Audio (standard on most 2024+ Android phones)
• Both your earbuds and the Sound Connect app need the latest firmware
• The Low Latency option only appears when connected to compatible devices

Quick compatibility check: If you don't see the Low Latency option in the app, your connected device likely doesn't support LE Audio yet.

Gaming Performance: What to Expect

Works great for:

• Single-player games, RPGs, and adventure titles
• Casual multiplayer sessions
• Mobile gaming and cloud streaming
• Console gaming via Bluetooth TV connection

Keep in mind:

• Low Latency mode trades some connection stability for reduced lag—occasional stutters may occur in crowded wireless environments
• For competitive esports or rhythm games where milliseconds matter, wired audio remains the most reliable option

Getting the Best Results

For optimal wireless gaming:

• Enable Low Latency mode before launching your game
• Game in areas with minimal wireless interference
• Keep your earbuds charged above 20% for stable performance
• Consider connecting through a Sony BRAVIA TV for seamless PS5 integration

The WF-1000XM6's Low Latency mode won't replace a wired gaming headset for tournament play, but for the vast majority of gaming sessions, you won't notice the difference—and you'll enjoy the freedom of truly wireless audio with exceptional noise cancellation between matches.
