The Igloo Trailmate 50 Qt Cooler, particularly the Carbonite version, can keep your ice intact for a decent amount of time. While opinions vary a bit, mainly due to its weight and mobility, most folks find it does a solid job of staying cool for longer stretches.
It's designed with a 50-quart capacity, thanks to its sturdy plastic build, thick foam-insulated walls, and an insulated lid. All of this helps with keeping your stuff cold. It might not be on the same level as high-end options like Yeti, but according to our research, many people had their ice last for a few days - like over a three-day camping trip.
Some things to keep in mind: although it's lighter, that can be a double-edged sword. It doesn’t have rubber feet, so it might slide around on smooth surfaces. Also, the latches can be tough to handle if you have arthritis or something similar.
In short, if you’re looking for something that mixes ease of transport with good cooling performance, this cooler could fit the bill. Those big wheels come in handy, and it's generally easy to use.
Just remember, if you're chasing ultimate ice retention, there are more durable options out there. Still, for the price, it's a pretty practical choice for your outdoor adventures.
