The Sony WH-1000XM6 can be comfortable for glasses wearers, thanks to several thoughtful design choices.
How Sony Addresses Glasses Comfort
- Soft, flexible ear cups wrap around ears without crushing glasses frames
- Stretchable earpad material creates a secure fit with reduced pressure
- Spring-loaded earcup pivots distribute pressure evenly (similar to AirPods Max)
- Deeper padding on cushions and headband versus previous models
Most glasses wearers report the ear cups don't create sore spots where glasses arms rest.
Potential Issues
Some users note the stock ear pads compress over time and may feel shallow for larger ears. Extended sessions might require occasional breaks.
The Aftermarket Solution
If stock comfort isn't ideal, replacement pads make a significant difference.
Recommended: Wicked Cushions WC PadZ XM6 (~$23)
- Slightly thicker with denser memory foam
- Better support where glasses arms rest
- Cooler PU leather exterior
- No impact on sound quality or ANC
- Tool-free installation under one minute
Verdict
The WH-1000XM6 offers adequate comfort for most glasses wearers out of the box. For those who experience pressure points, affordable aftermarket pads typically solve the problem completely.
