TLDR Review: simplehuman Butterfly Lid Kitchen Trash Can
Verdict
The simplehuman 45 Liter Butterfly Lid Kitchen Step Trash Can is a premium, durable choice for anyone wanting a large-capacity, pet-proof, and stylish kitchen trash can that doesn’t shout “trash.” Its smooth butterfly lid and easy bag changes make daily use a pleasure, but if you’re picky about bag quality, prepare to source alternatives. The price reflects the solid build and long warranty, making it worthwhile for those prioritizing longevity and aesthetics. If you want something slightly smaller and more budget-friendly with similarly elegant features, you might want to explore other sizes or models within the simplehuman line.
- Top pro:
- Holds a large 45-liter (11.9 gallon) capacity, meaning fewer trips to take out the trash compared to smaller cans.
- Top con:
- The included proprietary 20 bags are thin and overpriced, so most users recommend switching to alternative bags for better value and durability.

Cons
- •The included proprietary 20 bags are thin and overpriced, so most users recommend switching to alternative bags for better value and durability.
