TLDR Review: Dorman Hand Rivet Gun
Verdict
The Dorman 743-100 Hand Rivet Gun is an affordable option suitable for hobbyists and light, occasional use. While the tool is functional and features a built-in catch bottle for waste pins, it may not be robust enough for professional or heavy-duty work due to some plastic components and difficulty handling larger rivets. Keep in mind the need for extra muscle to operate effectively and potential issues with manufacturing defects. If you need a more heavy-duty rivet gun, you might want to explore other options.
- Top pro:
- Functional for hobbyist and occasional use
- Top con:
- Tips not marked in inches

However, numerous reviews report issues with performance, particularly with larger rivets and plastic components that can fail easily, pointing to a need for caution regarding its durability for professional applications. Overall, it offers good value for casual users willing to manage its limitations.
