TLDR Review: Craftsman S1600 Chainsaw
Verdict
The NEW CRAFTSMAN S1600 chainsaw offers solid performance for small to medium wood-cutting tasks around the home. Its reliable start-up, lightweight design, and safety features make it especially beginner-friendly. However, be aware that some packaging inconsistencies exist regarding the included case, and its power may be insufficient for large, aggressive cuts. If you're seeking a dependable saw for light to moderate work, this model is a strong candidate, but for heavy-duty tasks, you might want to consider something more heavy-duty or professional-grade.
- Top pro:
- Performs reliably on small to medium logs and branches, handling 12-inch trees efficiently
- Top con:
- Some reviews mention issues with the chain tensioner, though often related to user error
