TLDR Review: Casablanca 99195 Wall Remote Control
Verdict
If you’re looking to revive a vintage 1980’s Casablanca ceiling fan and want a wall remote that fits the original system, the Casablanca 99195 offers a solid, aesthetically clean solution with reasonable battery life and decent build quality. That said, the setup can be fiddly, and the dual control system (wall and handheld remote) isn’t always reliable, sometimes causing erratic fan behavior. If you prioritize seamless, hassle-free operation and broader compatibility, you might want to consider alternatives like Hunter’s fan remotes, which have a stronger reputation for reliability and easier programming. For a remote specifically designed for vintage Casablanca fans but with better support and user experience, keep an eye out for compatible Hunter remotes or other universal fan remote systems known for stability and easier pairing.
- Top pro:
- Fits and works perfectly with vintage 1980’s Casablanca ceiling fans, effectively restoring older, hard-to-find models.
- Top con:
- The wall control sometimes causes the fan to perform incorrect or random functions, like reversing direction when trying to turn on the light.
