The Havahart 5277 Critter Ridder is a motion-activated animal repellent that can detect movement and body heat from up to 100 feet away. It sprays a five-second burst of water to scare off critters. You can adjust its sensitivity, so whether you're dealing with little guys like squirrels or bigger animals like deer, you can tweak it to fit your needs.
According to the manufacturer's product description, this device runs 24/7 and is eco-friendly, using just 2-3 cups of water each time it activates. Setting it up is pretty straightforward since it comes with a metal spike to anchor it into your garden or lawn. Our research shows it's effective against all sorts of animals like chipmunks, skunks, and deer.
While it generally scores well for effectiveness, some feedback points out that keeping the fittings secure is important to prevent leaks. Plus, frequent activation might wear out the batteries faster, so be ready with replacements. Another thing to watch out for is the plastic parts; they might not hold up well over time or in tough weather.
So, if you're looking for a humane and green way to keep pests out of your garden, the Havahart 5277 Critter Ridder could be a good fit. Just know that it’ll need a bit of maintenance and careful setup to work smoothly.
It's a handy option for managing wildlife without too much hassle.
