If you're looking into the Backbone One subscription service, there are some upsides and downsides you might want to think about.
On the plus side, it really enhances mobile gaming, especially for those with Android and iPhone 15 devices. One handy feature is the magnetic adapters that are included, which, according to the manufacturer's description, help make the controller work with phones in cases.
From what we've found, people generally like how convenient and compatible it is. Slim cases often fit just fine, and being able to leave your case on while playing is a nice touch—it makes gaming more comfortable and keeps your phone protected.
However, there are some cons to be aware of. Compatibility can vary. While slim cases usually fit, bulkier or more protective ones might not. We've seen that users with thicker cases often have to remove them to use the controller correctly.
For example, one person said they had to take off their Spigen hard case for it to fit, even though it's a low-profile one. Another mentioned trying three different cases with an iPhone 15 Pro but none worked, even with the adapters.
Having to change or remove your case for compatibility might be a hassle, especially if you like to keep your phone protected all the time. This can be a bit of a drawback if you prefer to stick with your current, more protective case.
In short, while the Backbone One has a lot to offer for mobile gamers, including adaptable features for some cases, its limitations are worth noting.
If mobile gaming is a big deal for you, using a slimmer case could make your experience better with it. Balancing protection and gaming ease is important to get the most out of this accessory.
