Wondering about the noise level of the Sun Joe CJ603E wood chipper? Here's the scoop.
This chipper has a 15-amp motor, so it's got some power to handle branches up to about 1.73 inches thick. Naturally, any wood chipper isn't going to be super quietāit's chipping wood, after allābut our research suggests that this one keeps the noise to a reasonable level.
It's not going to sound like a whisper, but it's not annoyingly loud either. Just expect the typical hum you'd hear from a chipper.
It works best with dry, seasoned branches around 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Prepping the wood is key to smoother operation and less noiseāthings like trimming branches and avoiding tougher materials like oak can reduce jams and keep things running smoothly.
If youāre using branches that are leafy or freshly cut, especially green wood, that's when it might get a bit noisier since the chipper might struggle more.
To get the best results and keep the noise in check, make sure to prep your branches well. Trim off leaves, cut them to a manageable size, and fit them into the chute correctly.
Doing this will also help prolong the life of your machine.
Overall, while the Sun Joe CJ603E isn't silent, its noise level is fairly reasonable, especially if you pay attention to what material you're putting in.
If you plan on using it frequently, you might want to consider some ear protectionājust to be cautious. Hope this helps with your decision!
