The Sun Joe CJ603E is designed to make wood chips that the manufacturer suggests are great for mulching. They don't really specify the exact size in the product description, though. Based on what we found, you can feed it branches up to 1.73 inches thick.
So, while it doesn't give an exact measurement, you can expect the chips to be plenty small for things like garden mulching or composting.
As for the noise, it's called 'Silent' in name, but that doesn't mean it's completely quiet. It's just quieter than gas-powered ones. It operates at about 60 RPM, which helps keep the noise down.
From what we've seen, some folks find it quiet and manageable, while others feel it's more like the sound of a lawn mower.
Even though it's quieter, quite a few people think wearing ear protection is a smart idea, especially if you have a big project and will be using it for a while.
So, while the exact size of the wood chips isn't laid out, the Sun Joe CJ603E is pretty efficient with branches that fit its specs. Just remember to grab some ear protection for a bit of extra comfort and safety during extended use.
