The AmeriGlide Rave 2 Stair Lift is known for its DIY installation option, which is great if you're looking to save on professional installation fees. It comes with a weight capacity of 350 pounds, so it's pretty robust, and the basic setup includes 15 feet of track. You might need extra track if your staircase is longer, though.

From what we found, people with basic DIY skills generally find installing it to be doable. Just be sure to follow the instructions carefully and watch out for a couple of common snags.

For example, many mentioned the need to adjust the seat sensor screw, which isn't highlighted well enough in the manual but is pretty important for the lift to work right. Some folks had to call customer support to straighten things out, and it seems assistance is there if you hit any roadblocks.

Safety-wise, it's pretty thoughtful, with features like a footrest safety sensor and a swivel seat, which definitely help. Its compact design fits well in homes with narrow staircases, adding to its practicality.

While most people find the installation goes smoothly, we did come across a few mentions of missing parts when the delivery arrived or slower customer service responses.

It's a solid idea to double-check everything when you get it and contact customer support if anything's missing or off.

So, if you're okay with a little DIY, the AmeriGlide Rave 2 could be a good choice for boosting accessibility at home. Just be sure to take your time with the installation and maybe keep the company's contact info handy in case you need it.
