For the AmeriGlide Rave 2 Stair Lift, your staircase needs to be at least 32 inches wide to install it properly. This ensures there's enough room for safe and smooth operation.
One of the nice things about the Rave 2 is that it's designed to be pretty straightforward to install, so many homeowners choose to set it up themselves to save on installation costs. The manufacturer describes it as having 15 feet of track, which works for most straight staircases. If you have a longer staircase, you can buy additional track to cover the extra length.
From what we've seen, people usually find the installation manageable, especially with the detailed instructions and video guides provided by the manufacturer. However, if you're running into any trouble, like unclear instructions or missing details about adjustments (like loosening the seat's swivel sensor screw), reaching out to their tech support or looking for online help has been beneficial for many.
A common hiccup seems to be with the initial adjustment of components like the magnetic seat sensor. Some have worked around these issues by contacting customer support, but having someone handy with mechanical tasks around can be helpful to make sure everything's set up right.
If you're planning to install the Rave 2 yourself, just make sure to go through the instructions thoroughly. Being prepared can make a big difference in getting everything running safely and efficiently.
It's a solid choice if you're aiming for better mobility in your home without breaking the bank.
