If you're wondering about how bright the HSGUS 6-inch green glow sticks are, here's a bit of insight. The manufacturer describes them as 'Ultra Bright' and claims they're made with industrial-grade materials, so they should glow for up to 12 hours. But from what we've found, experiences with their brightness are a bit mixed.
When you first snap them, these glow sticks can be really bright, which is great if you're using them to mark out trails or light up a room at a party. For instance, some folks said they stayed bright throughout an entire event. On the other hand, there are other experiences where the brightness seemed to dip after a few hours, which doesn't quite match the 12-hour promise. Some people even mentioned they're mainly visible only in complete darkness after the initial glow fades.
The manufacturer suggests these as handy for emergencies, power outages, and survival kits because of their immediate brightness. However, based on our research, they might not be the best single light source for emergencies since their brightness might not last as long as expected.
Still, they can be quite handy for brief outages or to add some fun lighting at a party.
So, overall, while these glow sticks can provide a good initial burst of brightness, their performance seems to vary based on how you use them. If you're looking for something that stays bright for an extended period, it might be a good idea to have other light options on hand. This way, whether you're out camping or waiting for the lights to come back on at home, you'll be covered.
