The COSTWAY Scarecrow Motion Activated Animal Repellent can cover an area of up to 1,200 square feet, according to the manufacturer's description. It's designed to keep animals like deer, raccoons, and stray cats away using a motion-activated water spray.
One of the perks is its operation both day and night, and it can last up to six months on a single 9-volt battery, which is quite convenient if you want something low-maintenance. Setting it up seems easy too, which is nice if you’re not looking for a complicated install.
Based on what we've found, people have had mixed experiences with it. Some have found it quite effective, especially at keeping stray cats out of their gardens, as long as it’s set up correctly. They appreciate how simple and user-friendly it is.
However, not everyone agrees. Some folks have noted issues with its sensitivity—sometimes it doesn’t detect motion all that well or has a limited spray range. This inconsistency might mean animals eventually ignore it.
There've also been some complaints about leaks at the connectors and problems with fitting different hose attachments.
So, while it can work well in the right conditions, you might need to fiddle with it a bit to get the best results. It's worth weighing these mixed reviews to see if it'll meet your needs or if you'll need to make some adjustments.
