The LEGO Icons Optimus Prime 10302 set is a real treat for Transformers fans. It has this amazing ability to switch from a robot to a truck without having to take it apart—definitely a highlight mentioned by the manufacturer.
However, keep in mind that a few folks have noted it's a bit tricky, with some parts around the waist falling off during transformation. Our research suggests this might be due to hinges and swivels in the design, and the absence of knee joints might add to the stability issue.
In its robot form, it stands at over 13.5 inches tall and has movement in various parts like the shoulders and waist. When you switch it to truck form, it measures over 10.5 inches long.
What's really cool are the accessories that come with it: an Ion Blaster, an Energon Cube, and the iconic Autobot Matrix of Leadership.
While the design and transformability are pretty innovative, the transformation process might not be as straightforward as you'd expect. According to our research, it’s wise to handle it gently to avoid any pieces coming loose.
It looks amazing on display but probably isn’t the best option for rough play since the transformation mechanism can be a bit delicate.
In short, if you're looking to have a detailed Optimus Prime model that transforms, it's a unique find. Just know that for active play, you might have to be a bit careful with it as suggested by other fans and collectors.
It's a fantastic addition for any collector's display, really capturing the essence of Optimus Prime for your collection.
