The LEGO Icons Optimus Prime 10302 set is pretty cool because it lets you transform Optimus Prime from his robot form into a truck and back without taking any pieces apart. For fans of both LEGO and Transformers, this adds a fun twist to the building and playing experience.
From what we've found, the transformation process is both innovative and enjoyable, with a nod to accuracy that aligns with the iconic Generation 1 Optimus Prime. Just be careful when transforming—it seems there are a few delicate areas, especially around the waist and torso, where parts might feel a little loose and could come apart during the process.
It's worth noting that while the transformation feature stands out, the set is really made to be a display piece. It comes with cool accessories like an ion blaster and Energon axe, though according to our research, these might be a bit heavy if you're trying to achieve more dynamic poses.
For collectors, this set is a great tribute to the beloved Autobot leader, just as the manufacturer describes it. It's not as robust for constant transformations, but its display quality and nostalgic vibes make it a nice addition to any collection. Imagine it more as a stunning piece to show off than a toy you'll transform all the time.
So, if you're into both franchises or you're just after an impressive display model, this set won't let you down. Just handle the transformation with a bit of care, and you'll enjoy both its look and the memories it brings back.
