The S26 Ultra is better, but not dramatically. It's a solid half-generation improvement. Nice if you're buying new, but not enough to justify selling a one-year-old flagship.

What you'd actually gain:

• Privacy Display - The only hardware-exclusive feature. If you handle sensitive information in public regularly, this might matter. Otherwise, cool but not essential.

• Faster charging - 60W vs 45W wired, 25W vs 15W wireless. Nice, but your S25 Ultra charges fast enough already.

• Camera improvements - Wider apertures for low-light photography. Noticeable in restaurants and evening events. Subtle otherwise.

• Better battery - About two hours more in testing. But the S25 Ultra already lasts all day.

What you're not missing:

One UI 8.5 is coming to your S25 Ultra. All the AI features Samsung announced will work on your current phone. The day-to-day experience will be nearly identical.

When upgrading makes sense:

From an S23 Ultra or older: Yes, upgrade. That's a meaningful jump. From an S22 Ultra: Definitely upgrade. Screen cracked or battery degrading: Replace with S26 Ultra instead of another S25.
