🔋The Galaxy S26 Ultra has the same size battery as last year's model - 5,000mAh - but somehow Samsung squeezed over two more hours of life out of it. That's a bigger deal than it might sound.

The Numbers

In real testing (not Samsung's marketing claims), the S26 Ultra ran for about 16 hours and 10 minutes. For comparison:

• The S25 Ultra managed around 14 hours
• Google's Pixel 10 Pro XL gets about 14 hours (even with a bigger battery)
• iPhone 17 Pro Max hits around 18 hours

So Samsung's catching up to Apple, but isn't quite there yet. Still, two extra hours compared to last year's Ultra is a meaningful upgrade.

Why Is It Better?

The new Snapdragon chip is way more efficient - Samsung claims 35% better CPU efficiency. They also made the cooling system 21% larger, which might sound like a random spec, but a cooler phone doesn't have to work as hard, which saves battery.

Charging Got Faster

• Wired: Now 60W instead of 45W. You can get to 75% in about half an hour.
• Wireless: 25W, which is solid
• Reverse charging: You can charge earbuds or other phones from your S26 Ultra at 4.5W

Fair warning: there's still no charger in the box. You'll need to buy a 65W adapter separately to hit those max speeds.

What This Means Day-to-Day

If you're a heavy phone user - lots of gaming, videos, social media - you'll comfortably get through a full day. Moderate users might stretch it to a day and a half. And if you're a light user who mainly texts and checks email? You could probably go two days without charging.

For a phone with this much power and a display this bright, that's pretty impressive.
