If you have a Galaxy S24 Ultra, the S25 Ultra brings meaningful but incremental improvements. Most S24 Ultra owners can skip this generation.
What's better on S25 Ultra:
- Improved design with rounded corners and flat edges for better handling
- Snapdragon 8 Elite delivers ~30 minutes more battery life
- Ultra-wide camera upgraded from 12MP to 50MP (significant improvement)
- Gorilla Armor 2 with better anti-reflective properties
- Latest Galaxy AI features
What's worse:
- S Pen lost Bluetooth (no Air Actions or remote shutter)
- Scratches more easily (Mohs level 6 vs 7)
Upgrade if you:
- Prioritize ultra-wide camera quality
- Want improved ergonomics
- Never used S Pen Bluetooth features
Skip if you:
- Are happy with S24 Ultra performance
- Use S Pen Air Actions or remote shutter
- Would rather save for S26 Ultra
Coming from S23 Ultra or older?
The upgrade becomes much more compelling. Two generations of improvements deliver significant gains in camera, AI, battery, and display quality. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is absolutely worth it from an S23 Ultra or earlier.
Bottom line: S24 Ultra owners can comfortably wait. The S25 Ultra refines an already excellent phone rather than revolutionizing it.
