The Galaxy S25 Ultra supports 45W wired fast charging and 15W Qi2.1 wireless charging, though there's an important consideration for wireless users.
Wired charging speeds:
- 0 to 70%: ~30 minutes
- Full charge: ~1 hour
This significantly outpaces the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which needs about 2 hours for a full charge. For best results, use the Samsung 45W Super Fast Charger or any USB-PD 3.0 charger supporting 45W.
Wireless charging (Qi2) catch:
The S25 Ultra is the first Android phone to support Qi2.1, but Samsung didn't include built-in magnets because they affected display and S Pen performance. Without magnets, you lose Qi2's magnetic alignment feature.
The solution: Use a Qi2-compatible magnetic case to get proper alignment and stable 15W wireless charging.
Charger recommendations:
For wired charging, ensure your charger actually supports 45W. Many chargers cap at 25W-30W and won't deliver maximum speed.
For wireless, Samsung's official wireless chargers work well. Third-party Qi2 pads work best with a magnetic case.
Perspective on charging speeds:
Samsung's 45W is good but not industry-leading. Some competitors offer 65W-120W charging. Samsung prioritizes battery longevity over extreme speed, which may extend your battery's lifespan over years of use.
