The Carex Toilet Seat Riser is made to increase your toilet seat height by 3.5 inches, which can be super helpful if bending or sitting is tough for you. The manufacturer says it’s pretty simple to install with just three steps, and it’s designed to fit most elongated toilet bowls. It also supports up to 300 pounds, so it’s pretty versatile in terms of who can use it.

But here's the thing: even though it sounds easy to install, our research shows that some people have run into problems with stability and fit. A couple of folks mentioned they had to use extra washers or spacers because the hardware that comes with it didn't secure the riser well enough. One person even had to add a wood spacer to keep it stable, and another thought the design could use some tweaks to avoid needing these add-ons.

Durability seems to vary. Some people said it's really sturdy and helpful, especially after surgeries like hip replacements. Others, though, reported that it started to buckle or crack, especially if they were near the 300-pound weight limit or if the pressure wasn’t evenly distributed. So, if you’re closer to that weight limit, you might want to think about additional support.

In short, the Carex Toilet Seat Riser can definitely make things more comfortable and easier, but you might have to do some tweaking when you install it. Also, how long it lasts can depend on things like your weight and how evenly pressure is applied.

Always make sure it fits your toilet well and be ready for some possible adjustments.
