The Scotch Thermal Laminating Pouches have a thickness of 3 mil. This works well for standard letter-sized documents, which are about 8.9 x 11.4 inches, giving them a neat and professional look.
Just keep in mind they work best with thermal laminators, particularly the ones from Scotch thermal laminators, as the manufacturer mentions.
From our research, it's pretty clear that getting your document aligned just right in the pouch is key. Misaligning can lead to jams or uneven lamination, so you’ll want to ensure your laminator is fully heated before starting.
Many folks find it helpful to insert the pouch straight and ensure it’s not overloaded to keep it running smoothly.
Also, be a bit cautious with what you try to laminate. Thicker stuff like cardstock might not always come out even, and could cause jams. If you’re dealing with erasable ink, watch out—heat might make it fade.
Some people have noticed similar issues with glittery materials, so maybe test it on a small piece before going for something important.
These 3 mil pouches are sturdy and add a nice touch to your documents, making them useful for protecting important papers, photos, or educational resources.
Whether you're prepping for a presentation or preserving something special, these should do the job well if you use them right.
