As for what it does, the SPARX Sharpener 2 is a pro-grade tool meant specifically for ice skate sharpening. It's pretty popular—actually more than 25 NHL teams use it—because it consistently delivers precise skate sharpenings. The manufacturer's description mentions that it uses unique grinding rings designed for ice skates, which help achieve pro-level accuracy every time.
Just a heads-up, though—not really meant for sharpening knives. It's all about skate blades—both hockey and figure skates. So if you're thinking about a tool that can do both skates and knives, the SPARX Sharpener 2 isn't quite the right fit.
Ice skate sharpeners are aimed at the specific needs of skate blades, which are different from what you need for knives.
In short, if you want something for kitchen knives, you'll probably want a dedicated knife sharpener instead. These ice skate sharpeners and knife sharpeners are each optimized for their own tasks, ensuring you get the best results without compromising the blade's condition.
Overall, while it may be a bit of an investment at first, the SPARX Sharpener 2 is a top pick for serious skaters and pro teams because of its precision and the reliability it offers to keep skate equipment in top form for the ice.
