The Google TV interface on the TCL 85Q651G feels pretty user-friendly and packed with features. Think of it as a central hub for everything entertainment. You can easily dive into content from different streaming services and apps. Plus, with Google Assistant built in, you can just use your voice to find shows, tweak the settings, or even control other smart gadgets in your home.
From what the manufacturer describes, there are three HDMI 2.0 ports for connecting things like Blu-ray players and consoles, though these aren't HDMI 2.1. So, for next-gen consoles like the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, you might not get the full bandwidth they can offer. But hey, one of these ports has eARC, which is great for getting better audio when you link up a soundbar.
If you're into gaming, the lack of HDMI 2.1 could bug you a bit, but the TCL 85Q651G tries to make up for it with its Game Accelerator 240 feature. It supports a refresh rate up to 144Hz VRR, which is technical talk for smoother gameplay with less blur and lag, especially during those intense moments.
Just keep in mind, though, if you're all about top-tier gaming performance, this might be a consideration.
On top of gaming, the QLED screen on this TV makes colors really pop, and the wide range of streaming apps adds serious value. It's a good fit for those who want a big screen, like 85 inches of big, and smart TV perks without breaking the bank. The Google TV interface just sweetens the deal, letting you personalize how you find and view your shows.
So, while it might not check every box for hardcore gamers after the latest HDMI perks, the TCL 85Q651G still shines with its Google TV setup, vibrant display, and smart features, perfect for 4K content in style and comfort.
