Using the Genuine Innovations G20310 Ultraflate with 16g non-threaded CO2 cartridges can be a bit tricky, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty manageable. The Ultraflate is meant to work with both threaded and non-threaded cartridges, so it's a versatile choice for cyclists.
That said, some folks have run into issues when using 16g non-threaded cartridges. The product description mentions that the inflator works with various cartridge sizes, but according to our research, the 16g non-threaded ones can sometimes be a loose fit. A common tip for dealing with this is to put a small washer or coin at the bottom of the inflator chamber.
This helps to hold the cartridge in place since the inflator doesn't automatically adjust for size differences. To use it, start by inserting the CO2 cartridge into the inflator. If it’s not snug, try the washer or coin trick. Once everything feels secure, gently press the trigger to puncture the cartridge and start inflating your tire.
There's a handy trigger control for inflation, which users like, but just a heads up—some have reported difficulties with 20g non-threaded cartridges, like threads being stripped during use and causing leaks. This might be because of a mismatch in size or the internal setup of the inflator.
Overall, while you might have to do a bit of tweaking with non-threaded cartridges, the Ultraflate generally gets good feedback, with an average rating of 4.2 out of 5 stars. Cyclists appreciate how reliable and straightforward it is.
So, if you're planning to use those non-threaded cartridges often, be prepared to experiment a little to get things just right.
