What this actually means:

The remote features are gone. You can't hold the S Pen across the room and click to take a photo. Can't use it as a presentation clicker. Can't do air gestures to control music playback. Any feature requiring wireless communication is history.

What still works:

Everything you do when the pen touches the screen works fine. Writing, drawing, navigation, hover previews, screen-off memos, Air Commands—all core stylus functions are unchanged. The latency and pressure sensitivity remain excellent for creative work.

Why Samsung did this:

Nobody knows for sure. Possible reasons: most people never used remote features. Removing Bluetooth means the S Pen doesn't need charging. Simpler design, lower costs.

Does it matter?

Depends on how you used the S Pen.

If you're a note-taker or artist who uses the stylus primarily for writing and drawing: you probably won't notice.

Workarounds:

Your Galaxy Watch can act as a remote camera shutter. Voice commands work too. For presentations, you'll need a separate Bluetooth clicker.
