Hey there! So, you're wondering if the PERFECT PRACTICE Compact Putting Mat lays flat? I get it—this is a pretty common question. From what we've found, some folks have had trouble getting it to lay flat right out of the box. You might see some bumps and wrinkles initially, which seems to happen often.
To smooth things out, some have tried placing heavy objects, like textbooks, on the mat to flatten it over time. Others have mentioned using a steamer to help ease out the creases. It seems the crystal velvet material, as the manufacturer mentions, might cause these wrinkles because of the packaging.
Although dealing with the wrinkles can be a bit of a pain initially, many people really like the mat once it's laid out properly, especially since it mimics a realistic putting surface and has cool features like an auto ball return. For best results, try leaving it out in one spot instead of rolling it up after each use—that can help keep it smooth.
Once you get past the initial set-up, a lot of people find they really like how the mat helps with their putting practice.
So, if you're interested in this mat, just be ready to try a few tricks to get it perfect. It might take a bit of effort at first, but many think it's worth it!
