If you're thinking about using the Peerless-AV PRG-UNV Precision Gear Projector Mount for your Sony projector, it seems like you're on the right track. According to what the manufacturer claims, this mount has a unique gear design for precise tilt, roll, and image alignment—just by turning some knobs. It helps keep your projector stable, so you won't have to adjust it constantly due to vibrations or bumps.
Does it work with Sony projectors? Yep, it’s designed to fit a wide variety of projectors, and our research shows it works well with several Sony models too. Just keep in mind, compatibility can vary based on the specific Sony model you have, so it's a smart move to check the compatibility list or reach out to Sony for confirmation.
One thing worth mentioning is that while adjusting tilt and roll is really convenient, the yaw adjustments can be a bit tricky. If you’re ceiling-mounting, adjusting the swivel or yaw might mean you have to tweak the installation points. According to our findings, some people found it a bit of a hassle to adjust the yaw without loosening the ceiling bolts. It’s not a major issue but something to think about if you often change your projector's angle.
If you need more flexibility with positioning, pairing the PRG-UNV mount with an adjustable pole could be helpful. This setup might make it easier if you often change where your projector is aimed, especially in environments where you need to adjust a lot.
Despite the minor hiccups with yaw adjustments, many people appreciate the mount's stability and precision once it's set up right. It’s great at maintaining your setup without needing frequent tweaks.
So, as long as it’s properly installed initially, this mount should work well for your Sony projector, keeping it secure and providing a steady viewing experience.
