The InSinkErator Badger 5XP doesn't come with a power cord included, so you'll need to get one separately if you're installing it yourself. This is pretty typical for garbage disposals, so just make sure you’re ready for that extra step.
From what the manufacturer says, the Badger 5XP is equipped with a powerful 3/4 HP motor and is known for its durability, although it lacks specific noise reduction features. Our research shows mixed feelings about the noise level. Some folks say it's quieter than older or less powerful models, but others find it quite loud. This might depend on where you install it or what you're used to.
While the Badger 5XP shines in efficiency and durability, if noise is a big concern for you, it might be worth looking into disposal models with noise insulation like InSinkErator's Evolution series. Just keep in mind how you want to balance power and quietness.
So, when you're setting up a new or replacement disposal, don't forget that power cord. It’s one of those things that’s easy to miss in the excitement but necessary for a hassle-free installation.
