So, if you're curious about how noisy the InSinkErator Badger 5XP garbage disposal is, here's the scoop based on our research. It runs on a pretty powerful 3/4 HP motor, so you can expect some noise when it's grinding up food. That said, most folks generally find the noise to be reasonable, given the power it's packing.
It's worth noting that this model isn't specifically designed to be super quiet, unlike some of the more upscale disposals with fancy soundproofing. The main focus here is durability and solid performance without breaking the bank.
From what we've gathered, the sound is more of a low hum rather than something that’ll make you jump every time it's on. If you're upgrading from an older model, you might even find it quieter.
A few tips to keep the noise in check: some people install extra insulation or make sure the unit is tightly mounted to cut down vibrations. If sound is a major concern for you, it might be worth checking out some installation tricks or looking for noise-dampening accessories.
To sum it up, the Badger 5XP does a great job balancing strong grinding power with manageable noise. If minimal noise is a top priority, you might want to look at some of InSinkErator’s premium models that have sound reduction features.
But for most kitchens, the Badger 5XP hits a good spot: effective and not too loud.
