Yep, the ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium does work with Apple HomeKit.
It's designed to play nice with Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant, so you can use your favorite smart home system to control your home's temperature.
If you're already set up with HomeKit, or planning to be, this thermostat is a good fit. You can adjust the settings using the Apple Home app or Siri on any of your Apple devices. Plus, it can be part of your Home app automations and scenes.
Besides hooking up with HomeKit, the thermostat has some cool features like the SmartSensors that keep track of the temperature and presence in different rooms.
This helps in managing hot and cold spots and can save up to 26% annually on your heating and cooling bills, according to the manufacturer.
Another handy feature is its built-in air quality monitor. It’ll alert you about air quality issues and when to change your filters. This kind of thing can help keep your home a healthier place to be.
From what we've seen in our research, setting it up is pretty straightforward. The ecobee app guides you through it, and even if you don’t have a common wire, the Power Extender Kit should help you get it installed smoothly.
The 4-inch glass touchscreen is also a nice touch, making it easy to use whether you’re on the thermostat itself or in the app.
One thing to note—the built-in speaker and voice commands are super convenient, but don't expect top-notch sound quality.
Still, it’s handy for quick updates and instructions. And with energy monitoring reports, you can keep track of your usage and make tweaks to save even more.
So, if you're looking for an efficient and smart thermostat that fits well with your Apple HomeKit setup, the ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium is definitely a solid choice.
