TLDR Review: Yootech Wireless Charger
Verdict
The Yootech Wireless Charger is a solid budget-friendly option that covers basic Qi wireless charging needs with decent durability and a portable design. However, if you want fast, hassle-free charging without worrying about exact phone positioning or case thickness, this charger may test your patience. Its fixed indicator light and slower speeds add to the drawbacks. For a more consistently reliable experience with fewer hassles around positioning and better fast charging support, you might want to explore other models. Still, for simple wireless charging with common devices, Yootech does the job.
- Top pro:
- Charges multiple Qi-enabled devices reliably, including iPhones and earbuds, making it versatile.
- Top con:
- Requires very precise phone placement to initiate charging, which can be frustrating.
Pros
- •Charges multiple Qi-enabled devices reliably, including iPhones and earbuds, making it versatile.
- •Compact, flat design that’s easy to carry and fits well on desktops or nightstands.
- •USB-C input adds convenience and flexibility compared to older micro USB ports.
- •Starts charging simply by placing the phone on the pad—no fiddling with cables.
- •Durable and has maintained performance well over nearly two years of use.
- •Strong magnet provides good stability during charging, reducing phone slips.
- •Eliminates the annoyance of loose cable connections for wireless charging users.
- •Sufficient charging speed for everyday use, with 7.5W for iPhones and up to 10W for some Samsung models.
Cons
- •Requires very precise phone placement to initiate charging, which can be frustrating.
- •Charging indicator light cannot be turned off, and some find it distracting, especially in dark rooms.
- •Often the charger’s light will turn on but the phone doesn’t actually charge, leading to inconsistency.
- •Slow charging speed compared to many modern fast wireless chargers; not the best choice if you want quick top-ups.
- •Struggles with thick or rugged phone cases, especially robust models like OtterBox Defender.
- •It’s not a simple "set and forget" charger—users must sometimes move their phone around to find the sweet spot.
- •The aesthetic is plain and somewhat marred by the charging light, lacking a premium or sleek look.
