TLDR Review: Viking Microfiber Drying Towel
Verdict
While the Viking 979700 Final Shine Microfiber Monster Drying Towel is praised for its effectiveness at leaving vehicles shiny and dry without streaks, its tendency to shed and become quickly saturated can limit its practicality. For best results, consider owning multiple towels to maximize efficiency, especially for larger vehicles. This towel is ideal for those looking for a reliable drying tool but be prepared to manage some extra lint.
- Top pro:
- Effectively dries the entire car without scratching the surface, leaving it shiny and residue-free.
- Top con:
- Sheds excessively, requiring de-fuzzing before use and leaving a mess on the car post-drying.
Pros
- •Effectively dries the entire car without scratching the surface, leaving it shiny and residue-free.
- •Highly absorbent and great performance on large vehicles, demonstrated on cars like a black Silverado, an '03 Crown Vic, and an '03 Toyota Avalon.
- •Machine washable and easy to maintain, though recommended to air dry overnight for best results.
- •Outperforms other drying towels and chamois used in vehicle care, receiving high recommendations from users.

- •Sheds excessively, requiring de-fuzzing before use and leaving a mess on the car post-drying.
- •Becomes saturated quickly, which limits drying effectiveness unless paired with a wringer.
- •Produces excessive lint even after washing, which can be a hassle to clean.
- •Starts to leave water behind after extended use, suggesting the need for multiple towels for larger tasks.
