TLDR Review: TCL 65QM6K TV
Verdict
The TCL 65QM6K offers impressive picture quality with a high refresh rate and an easy-to-use Google TV system, making it a great choice for gamers and everyday users who want a clear, vibrant 4K experience without overly complicated features. Its built-in soundbar with Dolby Atmos notably improves the audio experience beyond typical TV speakers, though audiophiles may still want to tweak audio setup for the best result. If you need peak brightness for sunlit rooms or flawless app performance, premium brands like Samsung could be worth considering, but for a 2025 model with this price-to-performance ratio, TCL brings solid value and modern features. If sound quality is your top priority, the included S45H soundbar is a nice bonus, but pairing your setup with a higher-end audio system is recommended for a truly premium experience. ShopSavvy thinks this is a strong mid-range contender that balances smart features, excellent gaming visuals, and a pleasant overall viewing experience.

Cons
- •Picture quality can fall short compared to premium brands like Samsung, requiring some manual adjustments to get the best image.
- •The TV’s brightness may struggle in rooms with lots of sunlight, making HDR content less impactful in very bright environments.
- •Some streaming apps on Google TV experience occasional functionality hiccups or lag.
- •The original built-in audio is described as “boxy” or underwhelming, encouraging use of the included soundbar or another external audio system for a richer sound experience.
- •HDMI audio at 120-144 Hz may be inconsistent, so optical digital audio output is recommended for better reliability with external sound systems.
- •The power cord is shorter than ideal, potentially requiring a replacement for better cable management behind a TV setup.
- •The TV’s 120-144 Hz refresh rate is not fully utilized by most streaming content, which typically runs at 60 Hz or 24 Hz, limiting visible benefits outside of gaming.
- •A glowing yellow indicator light at the bottom of the screen can be distracting during subtitle viewing but can be easily concealed.
- •Gaming picture quality, while solid, may not show a big leap over similarly priced competitors like Samsung’s equivalent models.
