TLDR Review: Suncast Modernist Shed
Verdict
The Suncast BMS7780 Modernist Shed offers a spacious, stylish, and weather-resistant outdoor storage solution ideal for keeping your gear organized and protected with natural light and security features. However, be prepared to invest a decent chunk of time and some elbow grease during assembly, especially for the windows and roof. If you want a modern-looking, durable shed and don’t mind a moderately complex DIY project, this is a solid pick. For those seeking easier or faster assembly, you might consider looking into other models with fewer small parts, but the overall value and design of this shed make it a great addition to many yards.
- Top pro:
- The shed features a high-quality build with a modern, attractive design that blends seamlessly into backyards without drawing unwanted attention.
- Top con:
- Assembly takes longer than the claimed 3 hours, often requiring 7–8 hours of focused work, which can be tiring, especially when installing windows and roof panels.

Cons
- •Assembly takes longer than the claimed 3 hours, often requiring 7–8 hours of focused work, which can be tiring, especially when installing windows and roof panels.
- •Some hardware, like the plastic screws and rubber strips for windows, can be tricky to install and may require patience and tools (plastic stick, mallet) to properly secure.
- •The right side door hinge is very tight initially, making door installation and opening somewhat difficult until it loosens with use.
- •Protective plastic film on windows isn’t mentioned in the instructions and can be challenging to remove post-assembly.
- •Front and back metal supports don’t reach the floor, raising some initial concerns about wall sturdiness, although the finished product feels stable eventually.
- •Certain installation steps—like placing plastic pieces to avoid warping or handling roof panels—benefit significantly from extra caution and helpers.
