TLDR Review: Scott Rags In A Box
Verdict
Scott® Rags In A Box™ delivers tough, absorbent, and disposable shop towels that shine in versatility—from automotive to household use—with excellent resistance to solvents and oils. However, if you loved the older, larger 7X version, be aware this product is a change-up in size and feel, which may not meet those exact expectations. For those who prioritize disposable convenience without fiber shedding and strong absorbency, this remains a solid buy. If you want to explore other heavy-duty cleaning wipes, you might want to keep an eye out for alternatives, but this case pack gives you plenty to work with at a good value.
- Top pro:
- Highly absorbent and stronger than traditional cotton rags, making cleanup more efficient.
- Top con:
- Current towels may be smaller and perceived as lower quality compared to earlier versions sold under the same part number, causing some user frustration.
Pros
- •Highly absorbent and stronger than traditional cotton rags, making cleanup more efficient.
- •Made from felted wood fiber, so they don’t shed fibers during use—perfect for clean jobs without extra mess.
- •Resistant to oils, alcohol, and common shop solvents, ideal for automotive, woodworking, and leatherwork tasks.
- •Disposable, which means no washing oily or dirty rags—just toss and replace.
- •Multitasker: works great for pet accident cleanup, household disinfecting, or even homemade moist wipes with custom liquids like isopropyl alcohol and vinegar.
- •Soft enough to avoid scratching delicate surfaces like stainless steel sinks and granite countertops, yet durable enough to handle tough messes.
- •Convenient packaging with 8 boxes per case (1,600 towels total), offering great value when purchased as a full case.
- •Towels can be cut into smaller sections, adding versatility for different cleaning needs.
Cons
- •Current towels may be smaller and perceived as lower quality compared to earlier versions sold under the same part number, causing some user frustration.
- •Product descriptions can be confusing or misleading about quantity, though the actual received quantity does match what’s stated on the packaging.
- •Some buyers miss the original "7X Scott Towels" for their exceptional cleaning power with just water, feeling the newer version doesn’t quite measure up.
