TLDR Review: SanDisk Ultra Luxe 256GB Flash Drive
Verdict
The SanDisk 256GB Ultra Luxe USB 3.1 Gen 1 offers a stylish, durable, and speedy flash drive solution with a strong balance of capacity and reliability for everyday use. Be ready for some warmth during intense file transfers or in tighter USB ports like those in cars, but it generally performs very well and recovers quickly. If you prioritize slightly faster write speeds and better heat management, you might want to wait for USB 3.2 Gen 1 drives, but for most users, this is a solid, premium choice with neat features like waterproofing and a metal build. Overall, it’s an excellent all-around flash drive that works well across many scenarios.
- Top pro:
- The all-metal, compact, and sleek design feels premium and sturdy, offering excellent durability.
- Top con:
- The drive tends to get noticeably warm, sometimes hot, especially during prolonged transfers or when used in enclosed USB ports like vehicle consoles.
