TLDR Review: Roku Plus Series 75-Inch TV
Verdict
The Roku Smart TV 2025 – 75-Inch Plus Series is a compelling choice if you want a bright, vivid Mini-LED 4K display combined with excellent built-in sound and the convenience of Roku's intuitive interface. It delivers strong value with easy setup and solid daily performance. However, if you are privacy-conscious or desire complete power control over your smart TV, these are notable limitations to consider. For those wanting similar streaming ease but with more flexible power and privacy options, it may be worth exploring external Roku streaming devices alongside a separate high-quality display or a TV that allows full shutdown.
- Top pro:
- Picture quality is fantastic, featuring punchy, vivid colors and sharp brightness typical of Mini-LED technology with Dolby Vision enhancement.
- Top con:
- The TV’s built-in Roku platform remains active even when the TV is off, which raises privacy concerns for some users about continuous data transmission.
Pros
- •Picture quality is fantastic, featuring punchy, vivid colors and sharp brightness typical of Mini-LED technology with Dolby Vision enhancement.
- •The built-in sound system, including a subwoofer, delivers surprisingly strong, clear audio often compared to or better than standalone soundbars.
- •Roku OS is simple, snappy, and user-friendly, making navigation across multiple streaming apps effortless even for less tech-savvy users.
- •Extremely easy and quick to set up, with straightforward menus and built-in access to numerous free and subscription streaming channels.
- •Reliable performance with no major issues reported after months of use, providing a smooth streaming and viewing experience.
- •The large 75-inch screen size offers an immersive viewing experience, ideal for living rooms or media rooms.
- •Great overall value given the combination of Mini-LED display, 4K resolution, Dolby Vision, and integrated Roku platform.
Cons
- •The TV’s built-in Roku platform remains active even when the TV is off, which raises privacy concerns for some users about continuous data transmission.
- •Setup requires creating a Roku account and agreeing to terms, which some find intrusive.
- •The TV comes with small legs that may not offer stable support or rotation flexibility, so a separate stand might be necessary for better placement.
- •Some users prefer using an external Roku streaming stick due to the TV’s always-on smart features, which are seen as a potential privacy risk.
- •Lacks full power-down functionality; the TV remains partially powered when turned off, limiting control over data and power usage.
- •While sound quality is praised, audiophiles might still consider dedicated sound systems for more nuanced audio performance.
