TLDR Review: Pocket Hose Copper Bullet 50 FT
Verdict
The Pocket Hose Copper Bullet Expandable Garden Hose 50 FT is a stylish, lightweight, and easy-to-use option that truly delivers on its “no-kink” and compact storage promises. It’s perfect for those who want hassle-free handling and a quality spray nozzle with multiple settings. However, if you need high water flow or a rugged hose that can stay outside year-round, this might not be your best bet due to its smaller internal diameter and potential durability concerns over time. Also, be wary of the nozzle replacement hassle if it fails. For better flow or easier replacement options, consider looking into traditional hoses or other expandable hoses that focus more on heavy-duty performance and easier accessory swaps. If water pressure and nozzle reliability are your top priorities, you might want to explore other highly rated hoses with reinforced fittings or separate, durable nozzles.
- Top pro:
- Lightweight and flexible, making the hose very easy to handle and maneuver compared to traditional heavy hoses.
- Top con:
- The spray nozzle has been reported to leak immediately and is difficult to replace without returning the entire set in original packaging, despite marketing claims.
Pros
- •Lightweight and flexible, making the hose very easy to handle and maneuver compared to traditional heavy hoses.
- •Expands from about 15 ft to the advertised 50 ft length when pressurized, retracting compactly for easy storage.
- •Resistant to kinking and tangling, which is a common pain point for garden hoses.
- •Comes with a high-quality 10-pattern thumb spray nozzle that users say is the best they've used in decades.
- •Well-made with durable solid copper anodized aluminum fittings that resist cracking and leaks.
- •Includes a 10-year guarantee, showing a strong confidence in the product's longevity.
- •Hose performs reliably with no reported leaks or faucet attachment issues for most users.
- •Very user-friendly and makes watering tasks easier and more enjoyable.
Cons
- •The spray nozzle has been reported to leak immediately and is difficult to replace without returning the entire set in original packaging, despite marketing claims.
- •Water flow through the hose is noticeably slower than traditional 3/4 inch hoses due to smaller internal diameter and high-pressure loss inside the hose.
- •Outside diameter sizing misleads some users expecting the equivalent flow of a standard 3/4 inch hose.
- •The plastic strain relief at the faucet connection is prone to breaking as water pressure fluctuates.
- •Some users report the hose does not comfortably stretch to the full 50 ft length all the time, depending on water pressure.
- •Must be stored indoors for best longevity, which can be inconvenient.
- •Some complaints about the hose kinking immediately despite "no-kink" claims.
- •Expansion hoses like this type may develop internal leaks or splits after about 12-15 months of use.
- •Manufacturer’s return and replacement policies are strict and not very customer-friendly.
