TLDR Review: Philips Hue 100W Soft White LED Bulb
Verdict
The Philips Hue Smart 100W A21 LED Bulb is an excellent upgrade for those seeking bright, high-quality indoor lighting with the full benefits of smart control and voice assistant compatibility. Its excellent dimming, reliable app features, and great color accuracy make it a standout, especially within the Hue ecosystem. However, if you want absolutely the brightest output or a cooler white tone, this might not be the perfect match. The slightly higher price reflects its premium smart functionality and build quality. For users focused on vibrant white light or lower cost, exploring other smart bulbs might be worth considering, but for the Hue loyalist or anyone wanting seamless smart home integration, this bulb delivers on most fronts.
- Top pro:
- Provides significantly brighter light than standard 60W bulbs, perfect for larger rooms or spaces needing extra illumination.
- Top con:
- Brightness peaks at midrange rather than maximum, which might be unexpected if you want the absolute brightest possible output.

Cons
- •Brightness peaks at midrange rather than maximum, which might be unexpected if you want the absolute brightest possible output.
- •Color temperature leans slightly toward yellow, making it feel more like warm sunlight rather than neutral white; some may prefer this more for indoor use but others might want whiter tones.
- •Bluetooth functionality is limited, and full smart features require ZigBee hub integration.
- •The bulb produces slightly more heat compared to lower wattage Hue bulbs, typical of high-output LEDs but worth noting.
