TLDR Review: NEIKO Offset Screwdriver Set
Verdict
If you regularly face those frustrating tight spots where a traditional screwdriver simply won’t reach, the NEIKO 01323A Ultra Low Profile Offset Set is a savvy, budget-friendly pick that delivers durable, precise access in compact areas. Just don’t expect to power through deeply recessed screws or large jobs — its quarter-turn range and lack of ratcheting will slow you down. For better reach and ratcheting, consider investing in a more specialized set, but if your main challenge is “skinny space” access, this set fits the bill nicely with solid construction and comfort. You might also want to explore sets that include ratcheting or longer bits if your tasks go beyond shallow recessed screws. For now, this is a neat tool for tight, shallow spaces and light precision work.
- Top pro:
- Ultra low profile design excels at accessing screws in tight, narrow, and hard-to-reach spaces where regular screwdrivers just won't fit.
- Top con:
- Offset screwdriver bits have a limited turning range—only about a quarter turn—so expect to do some wrist gymnastics.
Pros
- •Ultra low profile design excels at accessing screws in tight, narrow, and hard-to-reach spaces where regular screwdrivers just won't fit.
- •Durable construction with hardened steel shafts and chrome-vanadium steel heads offers solid longevity and strength.
- •Includes multiple types of screwdrivers (Phillips, Pozidriv, Slotted) for a versatile range of small tasks.
- •Ergonomic, anti-slip handles provide comfort and help reduce hand fatigue during extended use.
- •Compact and easy to handle despite being a fixed set, making it ideal for quick precision tasks.
- •Comes with a convenient storage rack to keep everything organized and within reach.
- •Works perfectly for removing tight doorknobs or other screws in confined spaces where leverage is limited.
- •The screwdriver pieces are generally considered sturdy and good quality for the price.
- •Slim design allows effective screw tightening in spots where bulkier tools fail.
- •Highly recommended by users specifically for skinny screwdriver needs in very tight areas.
Cons
- •Offset screwdriver bits have a limited turning range—only about a quarter turn—so expect to do some wrist gymnastics.
- •No ratcheting mechanism; users say this would have made the tool much easier and faster to use.
- •The slotted head driver is misaligned at about a 75-degree angle, reducing its usefulness or even making it unusable for some jobs.
- •Bit lengths are short, preventing access to screws that are recessed deeper, making it unsuitable for tasks like mounting TV brackets or deeply recessed screws.
- •The keyring that holds the tools together is difficult to remove and replace, with suggestions that a carabiner would be a much better alternative to avoid scratching and frustration.
- •Some users wished for a smaller or thinner flathead option instead of Pozidriv bits for finer or more delicate applications.
- •Requires firm pressure to secure screws properly, which can be a challenge in tight spaces or for precision work.
- •Quality control appears inconsistent; some pieces have alignment or build issues.
- •Limited use case: great in narrow, shallow spaces, but less effective when more torque or deeper reach is required.
