TLDR Review: MOFT Phone Tripod Stand
Verdict
This clever, highly portable stand/tripod is best suited to MagSafe-compatible iPhones with properly aligned cases. However, reports of weak magnetic hold, case compatibility issues, and hinge failure make it a risky choice for heavier phones or anyone needing exceptionally secure support. **Buy it for compact iPhone convenience, but verify your phone and case compatibility first.**
- Top pro:
- Folds to roughly the size of two credit cards for easy wallet or pocket carry.
- Top con:
- Magnet strength is inconsistent, with some users reporting weak hold, especially with heavier phones or upright positioning.
Pros
- •Folds to roughly the size of two credit cards for easy wallet or pocket carry.
- •Functions as both a magnetic phone stand and mini tripod, supporting portrait and landscape viewing.
- •Provides stable hands-free viewing, video calls, chores, meals, and group photos.
- •Adjustable hinge offers precise angle control.
- •Attaches securely to many MagSafe-compatible iPhones and cases.
- •Included adhesive magnetic ring can improve compatibility with some non-MagSafe phones and cases.
- •Solid construction and polished vegan-leather finish feel more premium than a flimsy desk stand.
- •Compact design is convenient for selfies, travel, and quickly changing camera positions.
Cons
- •Magnet strength is inconsistent, with some users reporting weak hold, especially with heavier phones or upright positioning.
- •May not securely support larger devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
- •Case compatibility is hit-or-miss, and the adhesive ring may detach from the phone and remain stuck to the stand.
- •The adhesive ring is not restickable and should not be applied directly to the phone.
- •At 3 ounces, it is somewhat heavier and bulkier than its small footprint suggests.
- •A hinge pin reportedly broke after about four months of daily use.
- •The leather-like finish may develop frayed edges over time.
- •Magnets may interfere with Samsung S Pen tracking.
