TLDR Review: Milwaukee 2823-22HD Mower
Verdict
The Milwaukee 2823-22HD M18 Fuel 21" Self-Propelled Dual Battery Mower Kit delivers powerful cordless performance, long battery life, and versatile mowing options wrapped in a quiet and durable design. It's a great choice if you want efficient, gas-free mowing with the convenience of Milwaukee’s battery ecosystem. However, if durability over time and refined speed control are top priorities, you might want to cautiously weigh its premium price against potential wear issues. For those who want similar cordless convenience but with a different control scheme or potentially more rugged build, exploring other high-end cordless mowers could be beneficial.
- Top pro:
- Strong battery efficiency, easily mowing an 8,000 sq ft yard using only half of a 12.0Ah battery, with enough charge for up to three mowings on a single charge.
- Top con:
- Some users noticed a significant drop in mowing power after only a couple of months of use, suggesting possible durability issues under heavy or prolonged use.
Pros

- •Batteries are compatible with a wide range of other Milwaukee M18 cordless tools, adding impressive convenience.

- •Self-propelled with variable speed, allowing users to adjust exercise intensity and mowing pace.
- •Simple all-wheel height adjustment via a single lever makes changing cutting height quick and easy.
- •Durable metal mower deck with handles on both front and back improves maneuverability and storage ease.
- •Quiet operation with no gas or oil required—no leaks, odors, or loud engine noise, making it neighbor-friendly.
- •Powerful enough to handle thick weeds, crab grass, and even fall leaf cleanup effectively.
- •Height adjustable, foldable handle saves space for convenient storage.
- •Very fast self-propelled speed, offering a mowing experience comparable to some ride-on mowers.
Cons
- •Some users noticed a significant drop in mowing power after only a couple of months of use, suggesting possible durability issues under heavy or prolonged use.
- •Build quality may not fully meet expectations for such a premium-priced mower, with performance degrading quicker than some comparable tools.
- •Speed control could be better; lacks a variable thumb throttle deadman's control, which some users find less convenient compared to older models that combine propulsion activation and speed regulation.
- •Caution is needed to avoid hitting sticks or rocks as the motor housing can be damaged easily, implying the mower isn’t the toughest against rough debris.
