TLDR Review: Logitech G PRO X Wireless Headset
Verdict
The Logitech G PRO X Wireless Lightspeed headset strikes a strong balance between premium wireless audio quality and solid comfort, making it a top choice for gamers who want clear, immersive sound and a reliable, long-lasting wireless connection. However, if you’re picky about surround sound or rely heavily on hassle-free software, the quirks of the G Hub suite and the finicky surround sound toggle might be a drawback. Also, watch out for the fragile plastic adjustment clips if durability is a priority. If you want a wireless headset with similar comfort but prefer simpler software and wired options, you might consider alternatives like the SteelSeries Arctis 7. Otherwise, this headset offers a fantastic wireless gaming experience at a premium level.
- Top pro:
- Excellent all-around audio performance with clear, balanced sound and strong bass response, especially when using the included DAC and custom EQ adjustments.
- Top con:
- Surround sound toggle in software often produces tinny, distant, or muddy audio, making it less useful; many users recommend disabling it for better sound quality.
Pros
- •Excellent all-around audio performance with clear, balanced sound and strong bass response, especially when using the included DAC and custom EQ adjustments.
- •Wireless connection is very clean, stable, and convenient, offering impressive range (up to 40 meters) without noticeable latency or interruptions.
- •Features DTS Headphone:X 2.0 surround sound, though many users prefer flat EQ for more natural stereo.
- •The Blue VO!CE microphone is better than most in this price range, delivering clear voice quality with useful mic filter tech, though requires some setting tweaks for optimal performance.
- •Very comfortable for long gaming or work sessions, thanks to ample padding and the inclusion of interchangeable fabric and leather ear pads (fabric improves soundstage and comfort, leather preferred by some).
- •Battery life outperforms many comparable wireless gaming headsets, letting you game longer without frequent recharging.
- •Solid, premium build quality with mostly metal construction, lightweight design, and no notable bulky feel.
- •Software (Logitech G Hub) provides useful features like smooth volume control and customizable settings when configured correctly.
- •Comes with a handy carrying bag for portability.
- •Outstanding customer support reported by users.
Cons
- •Surround sound toggle in software often produces tinny, distant, or muddy audio, making it less useful; many users recommend disabling it for better sound quality.
- •The G Hub software can be frustrating, with poor design, automatic gain control issues that can’t be fully disabled, and a need to configure and save settings to DAC then uninstall the software to avoid problems.
- •Plastic clips at size adjustment points are fragile and prone to breaking, with no official replacements available, requiring DIY fixes for durability.
- •Microphone is very sensitive to background noise and static at higher gain, often needing third-party noise cancellation or fine-tuning to manage interference.
- •Mic is not retractable and requires correct insertion plus a firm click to be recognized, which may be inconvenient for some users.
- •No wired connection option—this headset is wireless only, so if you want a wired fallback, you’ll need to look elsewhere.
- •Lacks Bluetooth support, limiting compatibility to devices with USB ports only.
