TLDR Review: LG 75QNED92A Smart TV
Verdict
The LG 75QNED92AUA is a powerhouse for stunning picture and solid sound in a 75-inch 4K Mini LED TV, especially shining with Dolby Atmos and vibrant HDR performance. However, be prepared to invest time in fine-tuning the picture and sound settings to get the best experience, and brace yourself for the sometimes frustrating remote and WiFi issues. If smooth, intuitive control and flawless wireless connectivity are deal-breakers, you might want to explore other options, but for picture quality and immersive audio at this size, it’s a terrific choice.
- Top pro:
- Outstanding picture quality with bright, vivid colors, deep true blacks, and excellent Dolby Vision support that many users rave about.
- Top con:
- The remote control is a source of frustration: it requires multiple clicks, often needs two hands, lacks labeling on many buttons, and has no dedicated mute button.
Pros
- •Outstanding picture quality with bright, vivid colors, deep true blacks, and excellent Dolby Vision support that many users rave about.
- •Mini LED technology offers better longevity than OLED, making it great for heavy viewing and binge-watching sessions.
- •Smooth, immersive viewing experience with a large 75-inch screen and a 120Hz refresh rate.
- •Dolby Atmos support adds immersive, surround sound quality that enhances movie watching.
- •The Wow Orchestra feature allows simultaneous audio from both the TV speakers and a soundbar.
- •WebOS operating system is generally praised as user-friendly and a key reason buyers prefer this TV.
- •Multiple HDMI ports (including several 120Hz ports) allow easy connection of gaming consoles, Nvidia Shield, Roku, etc.
- •Built-in dual speakers with subwoofers provide solid sound quality without immediately needing external speakers.
- •Sturdy VESA mounting compatibility makes wall installation straightforward.
- •Reliable LG brand reputation with expectations of long-lasting durability.
Cons
- •The remote control is a source of frustration: it requires multiple clicks, often needs two hands, lacks labeling on many buttons, and has no dedicated mute button.
- •TV interface and menu navigation can be confusing and unintuitive, detracting from the overall experience.
- •AI preset picture and sound modes tend to wash out the image and boost treble excessively, requiring manual calibration for best results.
- •WiFi connectivity is reportedly poor, causing delays when changing channels or browsing menus; Ethernet connection is much more reliable.
- •Soundbar integration is imperfect—some users note the soundbar powers off after a pause and needs a separate remote to turn back on.
- •Slight halo effect around white subtitles on dark scenes can be distracting in some cases.
- •Screen glare is more noticeable than expected under bright lighting conditions, making it better suited for darker rooms.
- •The remote’s cursor feature sometimes activates unintentionally, adding to user annoyance.
- •Volume mute workaround is clunky: holding volume down lowers volume before muting, requiring readjustments after commercials or pauses.
