TLDR Review: KRAUS Kore KWU110-32 Kitchen Sink
Verdict
The KRAUS Kore 32-Inch Undermount Workstation Kitchen Sink is a striking centerpiece with serious space and durability for large kitchen tasks, especially if you appreciate comprehensive accessories that turn your sink into a mini workstation. However, prospective buyers should be aware of drainage concerns and the mixed quality of the included wooden accessories, which may disappoint if you expect premium finishing or odor-free boards. If drainage or accessory durability is a deal-breaker, it might be worth considering alternate sinks known for flawless drainage or more premium accessory sets. Overall, this sink _means business_ for heavy-duty cooking and cleaning — just keep a squeegee handy and maybe opt out of the bamboo cutting board drama.
- Top pro:
- Stylish and attractive design that significantly enhances the kitchen’s overall look.
- Top con:
- Drainage is a notable issue with water pooling in the corners despite the sloped design; improper installation may worsen this problem.
Pros
- •Stylish and attractive design that significantly enhances the kitchen’s overall look.
- •Large, wide, and deep single bowl providing ample space for washing big pots, extensive prep work, and large canning projects.
- •Durable 16-gauge stainless steel construction with a sturdy thick feel, built to withstand everyday use without losing finish or quality.
- •Quiet during use with effective noise reduction, making it less disruptive in busy kitchens.
- •Thoughtfully designed low divider balances the benefits of single and double bowl sinks, allowing easy washing of large items while keeping separate drying or prep space.
- •Includes multiple practical accessories like stainless steel bottom racks to prevent scratches, a drying rack, and drain covers that add convenience and function.
- •The bamboo cutting board fits over the sink, enabling mess containment and multitasking during food prep.
- •Installation is straightforward, especially fitting well with undermount granite countertops and 48" base cabinets.
- •The sink’s basin bottom rack is sturdy and helps maintain the sink’s finish by reducing visible scratches.
Cons
- •Drainage is a notable issue with water pooling in the corners despite the sloped design; improper installation may worsen this problem.
- •Adding a garbage disposal tends to increase water and food particle accumulation, particularly in the front right corner.
- •The included bamboo cutting board sometimes emits a persistent, unpleasant manure-like odor that worsens with washing. Even replacement boards share this problem, prompting some users to abandon wood accessories altogether.
- •The yellow bamboo cutting board material is prone to delamination and looks cheap compared to more durable wood alternatives like acacia.
- •Some 90° corners in the sink require a brush to clean properly, as simple rinsing can leave residue.
- •The black PVD finish on the drain strainer showed peeling despite gentle cleaning, raising doubts about coating durability on accessories versus the sink itself.
- •Manufacturer’s customer service can be unhelpful, especially regarding warranty claims—for example, refusal of coverage for issues with accessories bought through warehouse deals.
- •Accessories like the drying rack rails show slight wear from normal use over time.
- •Due to the drainage and design quirks, an extendable spray nozzle and squeegee are almost necessary for effective cleaning and water removal.
- •Maintaining the sink requires regular use of stainless steel cleaners and spot removers; additional treatments like Rain-X might be needed for better water beading.
